It's past my bedtime...

songofjoy02But typing LJ entries is so much fun! Today was a little busy, I guess...although not very. After subbing for the third and fourth grade class last week, I attended the first and second grade one this week--to do music; I ended up staying the entire hour, though, because only twenty minutes were left when I got done, and I didn't feel like stepping into my own class at that point. It was a good opportunity to observe my 6 y.o. brother in SS, though...and to encourage him to participate.
Choir practice was as soon as SS got out, then church, then Bible study at A'P's house.=) I got home around four, and proceeded to spend over an hour working on my summary. I have spent so many hours on my assignments! I don't think I'm very good at time management, but at least I do get the things done. I turn in the rough draft tomorrow morning, then perfect it to turn in the final draft Wednesday.
So then I went to church tonight and typed up my rough draft after I got home. Then, my mom and brother and I sat around and talked about biology--with three different text books out! LOL! Bob Jones, Apologia, and Madrid Biology 8. The whole taxonomy thing was a little annoying to me in the text I read, and the most general classification, Domain, was absent in both of our high school text books...so my mom read from my biology book, said that the Domains Archaea and Bacteria are actually included in the Kingdom Monera, and that the whole Domain thing is based on evolutionary thinking, because it's just types of cells (Archaea, Bacteria, and Eukarya). Which begins to make sense...before she explained that, I really didn't understand the whole idea behind classifying a Domain. And after looking at the number of kingdoms that existed--five (which my biology book does NOT state), and seeing that four of them (which my biology book DOES state) are in the "Domain Eurkarya," I wondered where the fifth fit...LOL! Two more Domains, only one more Kingdom...so which is more general, indeed? I actually really don't understand it, but I can see why I was confused.
Well, I'm really tired and I still need to shower. I also need to be up in about five hours...delightful! =) And it's my intention to refrain from using coffee or tea to keep myself awake, so...sleep is my only chance.=)
