Cheesecake Benjamin made...at first, I thought it was a picture of...something else.

And then the NW Arkansas "Blizzard":

I took the first three pictures last night, at around midnight. The first shot is a closeup with flash so that you can see the snow falling. The next two were flashless. I had to lighten them, but I really wanted everyone to see how light it was while the snow was falling. I think that the shade of the pictures is actually pretty close to accurate.

And then I took some this morning, less than an hour ago. Levi, a grocery store courtesy clerk, had to be at work at seven this morning. I guess he'll be pulling carts in the freezing cold (temperatures in the teens) this morning. I'm stuck in the house unless I want to brave driving on unscraped streets. The main roads are fine, but it's getting to them that is the challenge. So we'll see. I have driven in snow and ice before, but it's definitely not my preference...

In the next two pictures, Benjamin is by a fire he started out in the yard. I hope the burn ban isn't still in effect. Okay, seriously, it was a tiny fire in a place that we sometimes roast marshmallows. Benjamin was, of course, not wearing a coat. I was too cold to venture out to where he was and get a closeup. Actually, I think I got rid of the only boots I owned, so I'll probably be avoiding the snow. LOL! So much for that. I always forget that I might need things. However, with such cool temperatures (at least for us), I think I'll be avoiding the outdoors in general. Gabriel couldn't even stand staying out there for more than ten minutes. After the second ten-minute period, he came back in the house--done for the day, apparently. It was too cold for him.
