Something Funny

Some teens overuse certain words...I am sure you all know what they are, but what about overused words from the olden days? I am browsing through a book by John H. Bechtel, Slips of Speech. Here is what he had to say on the subject:

Pet Words

Avoid pet words, whether individual, provincial, or national in their
use. Few persons are entirely free from the overuse of certain words.
Young people largely employ such words as delightful, delicious,
exquisite, and other expressive adjectives, which constitute a kind of
society slang.

Can you imagine today's young people using such words?;-)
